RATIONALE

If the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is to continue to improve its service to the community, the knowledge and skills of its staff must be continuously upgraded. As the public’s expectations rise, so does the pressure on Government. An organization such as the Arnott Cato Foundation can fill the need by joining with the Hospital in catering to the development of its human resources.

ROLE OF THE ACF

  • To build a partnership between QEH and the community;

  • To assist the QEH to attain the highest possible level of competence in management, health care, training, education and research;

  • To fund research related to health care problems at QEH;

  • To encourage outstanding work and productivity by the award of prizes;

  • To facilitate attendance of health care personnel of Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines at short-term training courses, seminars or meetings.

CHARITY

The Foundation was registered in 2000 as a Charity under the Charities Act of Barbados, and is also registered with the Inland Revenue department for exemption from income tax.
